A 72 year old inspirational role model..Joseph Maroon

Who wants to live to be 100 & healthy?

I know I do!!

Now I have just discovered an inspirational role model after a friendly librarian alerted me to an article about Professor Joseph Maroon who spoke at the recent 6th Annual A5M Conference in Anti-Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine in Melbourne.

His eating style is very similar to mine but he has done over 70 triathlons including an IronMan..so I guess I am putting 'doing an IronMan' back on the bucket list and a few more triathlons.

My new hero and role model..72 years young & still doing triathlons!

What an inspiration!

His approach: steel cut oats, tumeric, lean protein, plenty of vegetables, reducing inflammation and stress...exactly what I am on about...it is wonderful to know I am on the right track to longevity..

Inspired comment creates commitment

Isn't Professor Stephen Hawkings an amazing human being..so inspiring at the opening of the London Paralympics this morning.

He said

'Look up to the stars not down at your feet'.

Triathlon participation

A few months ago I said I would do the tri but have been procrastinating about it..so enough & I committed today to register.

In other words

Do what you say you're going to do..

by declaring your intent you build trust...................

So I am going to do the Sprint Triathlon on September 16th even if I have to walk the 5 km run because of my injured calves..

However I am putting my request out into the Universe to be injury free as I train for the triathlon and run freely during the event.

There: intent declared. Delivery on September 16th.

Watch this space for results.

How do you use your 168 hours each week?

Granted we all have the same amount of time each week I am really interested in hearing how people allocate their time.

What drives your priorities?

I have re-organised mine today.

I have committed to do a sprint triathlon in mid-September so it means for me getting smart with my available training time along with the 14 week program to the Pan Pacific Masters Games in November...so today on a early chilly Sunday morning at 6.30 AM I plunged into the cold pool, swam for 20 minutes, rode for 20 mins & then ran 3 kms...it was pretty cool in the water and on the bike and I eventually warmed up while running.

But it set me up for the rest of the day to feel incredibly energised...so I reckon I got a great ROI on my 1 hour of exercise.

What do you think?
