T-127: Morning coffee with the Queensland Premier (my mini moment of fame)

Hi all:

I'm back after a few weeks without access to the Internet. We have successfully moved into our beautiful new apartment & we are loving it.

Training is back on track after the 'whole-body workouts' associated with moving boxes and furniture. Never again will we do a 'self move' PBO deal (packed by owner). Getting way too old for such activity.

Serious fundraising about to occur

I have started a targeted fundraising campaign so don't be surprised if you get a range of emails over the next few months. Time to get serious.

If you want to avoid the targeted campaign donate now by clicking the following link.

My 15 seconds of fame for this week

Guess who I had a coffee and chat with yesterday morning after our Strand Workout....none other than the Premier of Queensland Campbell Newman  and his lovely wife Lisa. Both had been doing a 'cross-fit work out & ended up at Juliette's on The Strand for a caffeine fix.

T-151 Sin-bin or suspension; [plus birds on a wire]

T-151 until I hit the road.

What a debacle: two grown men fighting in public view;  are they corporate leaders or just street brawlers?

Hard to pardon such behaviour and such a lame media release. If that's how friends behave its time to rethink the term 'friendship'

Now all the squawking takes place....media are having a field day & of course its gone viral.

Reminds me of the image from last night, hearing all the white cockatoo's going berserk & being very raucous.

Federal parliament or a gaggle of white cockatoo's having a noisy meeting.

As for the brawlers I assume they will get referred to the Match Tribunal.

Maybe the Tribunal as a penalty can force them to make a donation to my ride later this year. That would be a sweet justice.

In case you'd like to donate as well please click the link below.

T-152 Working Bee invite Sat May 10th

PBO (Packed by Owner of the Company): please note we even have our own personalised packing boxes (Baxter). How cool is that? Bet not many people can claim that fame!

T-152

It all must go....care to give us a hand this coming Saturday morning?

What a bonus. Great all-round strength and conditioning training!

You won't find this in any 'boot camp' workout......humping boxes of various weights, stair climbing, aerobic, repetitive sets, whole body workouts..

Just be here at 0800 hrs (note the convenient starting time).

No excuses for the late-out of bed laggards.

All welcome

As compensation those not attending might like to make a donation instead by jumping on my website and make a donation right now.

T-153 the "NEAT" concept: instead of bike riding for a workout try moving house!

Do you know what NEAT is?

We did a lot of it today as we continued to mammoth task of packing up the house....including a quick Coles dumpster dive to get more cardboard packing boxes.

NEAT is defined as "non-exercise activity thermogenesis" and is the energy we expend for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise...apparently farmers have a higb NEAT but I am sure so do house-packers and removalists especially after a full weekend packing boxes.

But we have made good progress for our planned uplift next Saturday..so hopefully by this time next week we will be in our new apartment.

During a planned break (& obligatory trip to the local Bunnings Hardware store) we had a look at the impressive 'wicking beds' set up by Brett Pritchard at JCU Rotary International House Food Garden.

Brett, ably assisted by Jay Jackson, explained the concept & gave plenty of practical tips on turning food waste using the VRM Biologik-derived process developed by Ken Bellamy. Very impressive results from a small plot with heaps of potential.

See the VRM Link http://www.vrm.com.au/. Great for the garden and the vegies love it.

The garden impressed Susie and plans to bring her Scottish visitor to the site to promote the concept.

Check out the pictures of the garden beds.

T-155 New month; new lives.

Sorry about missing our on T-156 blog  as we were busy last night visiting the new additions to the Andrewartha/Spencer  family..did I mention that I became a Great-Uncle this week?

Its been a massive week for birthdays and last night we visited the proud new Mum, my niece Prue at the Mater Hospital.

Libby (Prue's Mum), who arrived in Townsville yesterday, as the brand new grandmother proudly displayed the 2 little bundles Ms.Philippa and Ms. Annabelle.

Such a special moment to see the 2 little girls in their 'double crib'.

We can't wait to actually be able to have a 'hold'..we feel privileged being in the same city for such a momentous event.

Speaking of special moments our Tabata workout venue this morning proved to be very spectacular as we walked back along The Strand this morning. Brilliant way to start the day.

Our training venue this morning on the Townsville Strand..tough I know...
